TCL's Q1 2024 TV Shipments Led by Growth in Larger Models

TCL Electronics Holdings Limited has unveiled its first-quarter 2024 global shipment volumes, showcasing impressive growth in their TV segment. Notably, shipments of TCL TVs sized 65 inches and above surged by 23.1% year-on-year, propelling global TCL TV shipments to a 5.3% year-on-year increase, totaling 5.84 million units. The Chinese market saw a robust 24.0% year-on-year increase in shipments, maintaining strong growth momentum.



Furthermore, the trend toward larger-sized TVs continues to gain momentum. In Q1 2024, shipments of TCL TVs sized 65 inches and above surged by 23.1% year-on-year, accounting for 23.2% of total shipments—an increase of 3.4 percentage points from the previous year. The average TV size also saw a notable increase of 2.3 inches, reaching 51.3 inches compared to 49.0 inches the previous year. Additionally, Q1 2024 witnessed significant growth in the global shipment volumes of TCL Mini LED TVs (up 82.3% year-on-year) and quantum dot TVs (up 58.8% year-on-year).


Internationally, TCL TVs sized 55 inches and above experienced a remarkable 21.2% year-on-year increase in shipment volumes, with their proportion rising by 6.8 percentage points to 40.1%. In Europe, TV shipments surged by 29.8% year-on-year, securing top-tier retail volume market shares in France, Sweden, and Poland. Meanwhile, TCL TV shipments in Latin America and the Middle East Africa soared by 4.4% and 44.1% year-on-year respectively, with leading retail sales rankings in key markets like Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Argentina.
