onsemi Completes Acquisition of Vcore Power Technologies from Aura Semiconductor

onsemi has completed the acquisition of rights to the Vcore power technologies, including associated IP licenses, from Aura Semiconductor.

The acquisition strengthens onsemi’s power-management portfolio and advances its roadmap to deliver efficient, high-density power solutions spanning the entire power chain, from grid to compute core, for next-generation AI data centers.

As AI infrastructure drives unprecedented demands on power density, efficiency, and thermal performance, the addition of Vcore technology positions onsemi to tackle the full “grid-to-core” power-delivery challenge, an integrated capability few competitors can match.

With deep expertise in silicon and SiC technologies, onsemi aims to integrate Vcore’s assets into its existing lineup of solid-state transformers, power-supply units, and 800 V DC distribution systems. This integration is expected to improve power density, efficiency, and thermal performance, enabling greater compute capacity per rack.

Originally announced in September 2025, the acquisition closed as planned in the fourth quarter. onsemi expects minimal earnings impact in the first fiscal year and anticipates accretion thereafter.
