Amphenol Acquires Trexon for $1 Billion to Expand Defense and Harsh‑Environment Interconnects

Published: 11.10.2025

    • The deal strengthens Amphenol’s footprint in defense and harsh‑environment interconnect & cable assembly markets.
    • It adds Trexon’s expertise, customer base and engineering capabilities to Amphenol’s existing offerings in sensors, connectors, interconnect systems and cables.

Amphenol Corporation announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Trexon for about US$1 billion in cash, subject to standard post‑closing adjustments.

Trexon, headquartered in Boston and with manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and the U.K., is a specialist in “high‑reliability interconnect and cable assemblies” serving defense, space and other mission‑critical markets.

For the year 2025, Trexon is expected to generate approximately US$290 million in sales with an EBITDA margin of about 26 %.

Amphenol says it will fund the transaction using cash on hand and expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, after regulatory and customary closing conditions are satisfied.

According to Amphenol President & CEO R. Adam Norwitt:

“Trexon’s unique portfolio of high‑reliability cable assembly products will be highly complementary to our existing offerings in the defense market.”

Once closed, Trexon will be folded into Amphenol’s “Harsh Environment Solutions” segment, a business unit that focuses on tough‑environment applications (e.g., defence, space, industrial). Amphenol also expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings per share in the first year after closing.
